Apparitions and Improvisations is a video series that engages with the apparitions inhabiting deemed “unproductive infrastructure”, be it an underutilized mall, a kitsch air bnb mansion, a polluted riverway, or an industrial trainyard.

In this project apparitions is used to think through the unseen histories that live in these spaces, the reverberation of tidal inhabitation--both human and non--and buried “failure”.

Through improvised dance and moving tableaus the environments come alive in the video documentation. Synchronistic moments both eery and humorous, beg questions in their hauntings that point towards--and outside--the zoning laws of normative spaces and behaviour.

This project was formed through video explorations with collaborators Alejandro Sajgalik and Krista Davis.
